Product Description

Add a little extra convenience to your morning commute with the Crime Stopper RS-1304DP remote keyless entry/engine starter. Also ideal for cold evenings, the device lets you warm up your car's engine from a distance while you relax in your living room or pay the restaurant tab. Once you arrive at the car, the engine and heater will be nice and warm, so you don't have to shiver uncontrollably for the first five minutes of the drive. Users have several different startup choices: they can start the car with the push of a button, they can program the car to start once the doors unlock, or they can program the starter to engage at a specific time. The car will then run unattended until the user shows up. And should you get waylaid by a friend or a phone call, the starter is programmed to shut off within a window of 12 to 48 minutes.

The RS-1304DP conveniently plugs into to your car's data-linking starter module via its data port, which requires no hardwiring or other cumbersome connections. And thanks to the many programmable modes, the RS-1304DP responds to a variety of remote requests. Among the programmable engine sensing modes are ultra-smart tachless, tach reference, and preset starter cranking. The unit also lets you pop the trunk or turn on the dome light from a distance. And to ensure added safety, the engine can be programmed not to start if the front hood is open. Other convenience features include a horn chirp confirmation each time you lock or unlock the doors, an idle down and infinity mode, and a valet mode that bypasses the starter function when others are parking the car.

The RS-1304DP works with both gas and diesel engines and its pair of four-button transmitters be synched to both family cars for maximum convenience. It also employs an on-glass antenna to ensure the longest possible range.

Reviewer: Sean K. Lariviere,
I was a bit skeptical about purchasing this remote starter for my wife's car based on the reviews others had left. I went over it with my brother, who has installed around 10 or 12 remote starters over the years. He didn't think it would be a major problem to install and he was correct. Now, I would not recommend going about this process by yourself unless you know what you are doing. My brother had this one installed and in perfect working order within 45 minutes.

He had done research ahead of time so that he knew which wire colors operated which equipment in the car. He also has wire testers and the correct connectors already so installation really was a snap.

Again, if you don't know what you are doing you WILL have problems installing a remote starter. It really is not a Do It Yourself type of easy project. The other product reviews I see on this item seem to point to people thinking that they would be able to open the box of the starter, pop a couple of screws from under the steering column, and everything will be labelled right there, easy to read, ready to install. This is just not the case. You need to know what wire colors perform which tasks (parking lights, ignition coil, horn, etc). Without this information, you are screwed.

Again, I couldn't be happier with my starter, and the fact that I got it for under $60 delivered is even better.

We bought two of these so that we could carry just one remote to control both cars and it works great. I didnt know we would lose some of the features that we had with remote keyless entry. we lost drivers door primary entry and the system makes you choose either remote trunk pop or dome lights. I cannot use the outside mirror lights on my explorer now. crimestopper told me to buy a different system after I already informed them I bought two of these. then I found on the internet that I could buy an add on module to do the features I want however its half the cost of the remote start. crimestopper didnt even offer this solution. over all it was very easy to install myself. I went to bulldog security and looked up the vehicles and got the wire location and colors from them (crimestopper wanted to charge me) that was very easy to install then. we installed on 2000 honda civic lx and a 1999 ford explorer sport that is loaded. the honda was much easier to install I did it in under 3 hrs start to finish. hope this helps.
very good quality

I have been installing crimestopper remotes for several years for my customers and they beat bulldog systems hands down. these are not systems for D.I.Y. folks, these are hardwired professional systems. Especially when you are dealing with keyless entry and anti-theft systems. Yes, you will need other adapters and modules with some of these systems. But think about it, you can't even buy a flat screen tv and just plug it into the cable (Most times), You sometimes need channel boxes or a d.v.r., also hdmi cables, stereo cables etc... to make it work. Anytime a company tells you that you can do it yourself on a weekend or or includes a how to video is lying. It is very easy to install these into the wrong harness and poof!! You have just let the smoke out of your wire harness and there goes your p.c.m. I will admit sometimes you get a bad remote. but think of the technology that goes into one of these small units. mistakes are bound to be made occasionally. The remotes are a great price and I would recommend you have them installed by a professional, the extra cost will be worth it in the long run. I have put one in every car I have purchased for the last ten years and have had no trouble with them.
Great for the price............

I purchased this for my fiance, and she couldn't be happier. I paid a store $125 to install it. Works like a charm. The ONLY thing that is wrong here is that it is NOT for 2 vehicles. It is only a one way remote(not 2-way). Other than that, this is a great product for the price. No idea why there are other bad reviews! Buy this with confidence.
No Hard Wiring My ASS

Reviewer: C. Strand,
The item description is completely false. When you open up the box it becomes painfully evident that there is a LOT of wiring to do. In fact, I called the tech support number and the guy told me that he doesn't recommend anyone install this themselves because of the pitfalls involved with all of the wiring which could actually ruin your car's computer system which, as you might know, isn't cheap. Not only that, but he also told me that crimestopper doesn't even sell their equipment to non-authorized dealers, Amazon buys it from a 3rd party vendor. So guess what that means . . . no warranty on the item! If you are attracted to this item because of the direct plug in myth and the promise of a hassle free install, turn around now!
